Getting to School

Student safety is our priority and families are responsible to ensure students are able and confident to travel safely and respectfully to school.

Hobart City High School students are supported to walk, ride a bike, or catch a bus to school to minimise traffic around the school and encourage sustainable transport.

Both campuses have secure bike storage facilities.

If you are travelling by bus, we recommend you familiarise yourself with the route and time of the service you’ll take to campus in 2022.

As an inner-city school, students in Hobart can access a mix of dedicated Metro routes and school services, as well as regular Metro ‘turn up and go’ services that depart every 10 to 15 minutes along main roads connecting inner city Hobart with the Northern Suburbs.

There are many ways to find out which bus you need, but we think the easiest way is to use or download the Trip Planner app. Simply select where you want to leave from (or select ‘current location’ on mobile), type your destination, and select ‘plan my trip’ to see a list of travel options. Click on an option to expand it and see a map and details of the bus stop, route number and times.
